You may use existing system user names from your company’s server directory as DynamicPolicy™ User Names.  By enabling the Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) in DynamicPolicy™’s Server preferences, you not only realize productivity gains in setting up users in the application, you will also ensure that only authorized company computer users can access critical and confidential company policies. 

Enabling LDAP in DynamicPolicy™ benefits the company, since you will not need to establish new User Names in the application for authorized users who are set up in the company directory, and it benefits the users, who won’t need to remember a different user name or password to access the application.

Follow these steps to enable LDAP:

1.Go to Management | Administration and select Preferences.

2.Under Server, select LDAP. The Server window will be displayed.

3.To enable LDAP, on the General tab, select the LDAP Authorization check box.

4.Enter the URL of your company’s LDAP server.

5.Complete the remaining fields with values specific to your company’s LDAP port, Search and Active Directory Domain.

6.Press Save.

You may also set advanced properties for LDAP:

1.On the Server window, click Advanced.  The Advanced LDAP properties appear:

2.Enter the field names from your LDAP directory that correspond to the DynamicPolicy™ User Name, First Name, Last Name, and Email fields.

3.Press Save.

4.After you have enabled LDAP and completed the Advanced properties, click Test so you can test the new settings with your directory:

5.Enter a valid LDAP User Name and Password from your directory, then press Test.  The application will return a message indicating if the test is successful.
